ACIM Notes #2

Here are some notes on ACIM for today. I will put passages in bold, and my commentary in regular font. All passages are from a public domain version of ACIM.

These few passages are from the chapter entitled, "The Acceptance of the Atonement".

Fear of the Will of God is one of the strangest beliefs the human mind has ever made.

This makes sense. God is all good, so why should we fear God?

I have emphasized many times that the Holy Spirit will never call upon you to sacrifice anything. 

Thank goodness!

No right mind can believe that its will is stronger than God's.

So a non-right mind, might believe this perhaps, that its will is stronger than God's will.

Next, these are from the chapter, "The Gifts of the Kingdom". 

The creative power of God and His creations is limitless, but they are not in reciprocal relationship. You communicate fully with God, as He does with you. This is an ongoing process in which you share, and because you share it, you are inspired to create like God. Yet in creation you are not in a reciprocal relation to God, since He created you but you did not create Him. I have already told you that only in this respect your creative power differs from His.

So we create like God, but since he created us, and is ALL powerful, his creations will differ from us humans only in this regard.

If you created God and He created you, the Kingdom could not increase through its own creative thought. Creation would therefore be limited, and you would not be co-creator with God.

So, there are two things here to note. First, we ARE co-creators with God. And then also, creation is UNLIMITED. I think that is a nice thought.

He created the Sonship and you increase it.

God created the Sonship. Good. This is good.

Only you can limit your creative power, but God wills to release it. 

God's will is for us to use our creative power!

Finally, this is from the chapter, "The Guiltless World". 

Have faith in only this one thing, and it will be sufficient: God wills you be in Heaven, and nothing can keep you from it, or it from you.

Only have faith that God wills for you to be in Heaven.

Awe should be reserved for revelation, to which it is perfectly and correctly applicable.

"Heaven and earth shall pass away" means that they will not continue to exist as separate states.

You were given everything when you were created, just as everyone was.

Seek not outside yourself.

On your learning depends the welfare of the world.

Uncovering Truth

Truth can be tested perhaps.

We should uncover truth. The truth will set you free.

ACIM says that nothing real can be threatened and nothing unreal exists.

Therefore, what is true and real will withstand testing and everything that is unreal will shown to be false and not real upon testing. This is how we uncover truth.

Try it and see if it works.

The Purpose of This...

The goal of this site is rather simple.

GOD being all powerful can because of possessing ALL power can increase the happiness and joy of all humans forever, ever increasingly. This site will attempt to help that happen by some super mysterious means. Really, we'll play that by ear and go by feel. But it will probably happen, and we'll probably be successful, right?
